Peshawar, Aug 1 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it killed 139 Pakistani security personnel and injured 276 in 360 operations during the month of July.
Among the security personnel killed, 199 belonged to the Pakistan Army and Special Services Group (SSG), 118 to the Frontier Corps (FC), 83 to Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and 15 to Intelligence/secret agencies, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement.
At least 13 security personnel were captured, he said.
The nature of operations included 139 Sniper/Laser assaults, 133 Guerrilla attacks, 32 ambushes, 15 targeted attacks, 14 grenade/bomb blasts, 12 counterattacks, 8 missile strikes and 7 engagement clashes, he said.
These operations by the TTP resulted in the destruction/damage of 9 military constructions, 24 military vehicles, 1 Tank, 51 CCTV Cameras, 6 Solar Power Systems, 5 Drone Cameras and other assorted military equipment, the spokesman said.
The areas where these operations took place included South Waziristan (89), Khyber (51), Chitral (49), North Waziristan (41), Bannu (36), Bajaur (24), Tank (14), Dera Ismail Khan (12), Mohmand (10), Kurram (10), Orakzai (8), Lakki Marwat (5), Lower Dir (3), Karak (2), Pishin (2), Peshawar (20), South Punjab (1) and Makran (1).
The TTP also seized equipment from the Pakistani security forces, including 1 Rocket Launcher with shells, 2 Light Machine Guns (LMGs), 1 Pika Machine Gun, 7 AK-47 Rifles, 2 Drones, 1 Pistol, 1 Vehicle, 1 Ration Depot, 1 Motorcycle and hundreds of bullets, food supplies, and miscellaneous military gear, the spokesman said.
