TTP claims to have killed 28 Pakistani soldiers, injured several others

Peshawar, Oct 26 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed at least 28 personnel of the Pakistani Armed forces and their agents and injured several others in 25 operations in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last two days.

It said it lost 8 of its cadres in one of these operations.

The biggest of the attacks was carried out by the TTP in Murghi Chand Pul area of Sararogha in South Waziristan when two army vehicles were destroyed in an ambush.

At least 7 soldiers on board were killed and the rest were injured, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement.

Another major hit on the Pakistan Army was carried out in Bajaur district’s Wada Mahmund, where the TTP ambushed an advancing unit of soldiers in Badano area, killing 6 personnel and injuring several others, according to the spokesman.

Two soldiers were killed in an ambush on personnel carrying water for the Army in Gul Kas in Zarmilna in South Waziristan, he said.

In North Waziristan, two soldiers were killed and one was injured in a guerrilla attack on the Khokhi military post in Shaktoi in Gariyum, Khorasani said.

In same Gariyum, TTP killed 3 soldiers and injured several others in an ambush on a foot patrol party in Dakai Tora Dara, he said.

In Mir Ali in North Waziristan, the TTP carried out an attack using Grenade Launchers on the Sark Leta army post in Khushhali, the spokesman said, adding there was a strong possiblity of casualties in the incident.

The TTP also killed a Pakistani spy identified as Asif alias ‘Intazar’, the spokesman said.

In Tank district, the TTP killed an employee of the Frontier Corps paramilitary force and “arrested” another in two separate incidents.

In the same district, there was a fierce clash between the TTP and the Pakistani forces in Tatur Galan Kot area, in which the soldiers surely suffered heavy losses in terms of men and material, he said.

The TTP lost 8 of its fighters in the clash, he said.

In Peshawar district also there was a clash between the TTP and soldiers in Shareekira Hassan Khel area and the forces suffered unspecified number of casualties.

In Dera Ismail Khan district, three army personnel were killed and several injured in a guerrilla operation in Daraz Nanda area, while military vehicles were also damaged in this operation, the spokesman said.

In South Waziristan, an Army officer was killed in an attack in Sarvekai two days back.

An officer was also injured in a sniper attack on the Baski Morcha in the same district.

In Bajaur, a sniper attack on a post located in Tor Gat in Wada Mahmund resulted in the killing of a soldier and destruction of a security camera.

In Dera Ismail Khan district, a unit of Pakistan army was targeted by the TTP when it left the Headquarters in Madi in Kalachi, resulting in the killing of one soldier and injury to another.

There is also possibility of army casualties in an attack in the Mandich area of Makin. (NVI)
