Ladakh, Mar 05 (NVI) : Kavinder Gupta has resigned from the post of Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, nearly nine months after assuming office.
Gupta had taken oath as the third Lieutenant
As per (NVI) Governor of the Union Territory on July 18, 2025.
His tenure coincided with growing unrest in the region, where several civil society groups and organisations, including the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance, have been holding protests demanding statehood, Sixth Schedule protections and job reservations for locals. —(NVI)
