Rajouri, Mar 8 (NVI): Police on Sunday attached the immovable property of a proclaimed offender and alleged terror handler in Manjakote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said.
The action was taken by police in Naika Panjgrain village of Manjakote against Shafeeq Ahmed, son of Mohd Ramzan Malik, who has been declared a proclaimed offender in a terror-related case, they said.
The attached property comprises seven marlas of land belonging to the accused.
Officials said the attachment was carried out after obtaining permission from the competent court under Section 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), corresponding to Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Police said the step is part of efforts to take strict legal action against terror handlers and ensure adherence to the law.
Further legal proceedings in the case will follow as per due process, they added.(NVI)
