Srinagar Administration Issues Weather Advisory Amid Rain, Snow; Public Asked to Limit Movement

Srinagar, Mar 30 (NVI): The district administration in Srinagar on Monday issued a weather advisory warning of intermittent rain and snowfall in higher reaches, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, and urged people to avoid unnecessary travel till March 31.

According to officials, wind speeds are likely to reach 40–50 kmph, with adverse conditions expected to persist through late evening on March 30 and continue into the next day.

The advisory cautioned tourists, Shikara operators and those engaged in activities around Dal Lake, River Jhelum and other water bodies to exercise extreme caution and avoid venturing out without assessing safety conditions.

Residents have been asked to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to ensure public safety.

In case of emergencies, the administration has advised people to contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) Srinagar or the Police Control Room for assistance.(NVI)
