Srinagar, Apr 13 (NVI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir later this month on a three-day tour, marking his maiden visit to the Union Territory after assuming office earlier this year.

Sources said that Nabin is likely to spend two days in the Jammu region and one day in the Kashmir Valley. Several senior party leaders from New Delhi, including central office bearers and those in charge of J&K affairs, are expected to accompany him.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, Members of Parliament, and J&K BJP president Sat Sharma are also likely to be part of the visit.

Sources said that during his tour, the BJP chief will review the party’s organizational structure in the Union Territory and assess its functioning as the principal opposition.

He is also expected to hold deliberations on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and devising strategies for upcoming electoral challenges.

The visit is also expected to include interactions with party workers and local leadership across regions, aimed at expanding the party’s outreach beyond urban centres.

Meanwhile, the BJP is planning a major outreach programme in Srinagar later this summer.

Though the dates are yet to be finalised, the event is expected to witness participation from top party leadership and is aimed at enhancing engagement in the Valley.

Party sources added that the visit is likely to take place after the conclusion of the ongoing election campaign in West Bengal, where the BJP is currently engaged.(NVI)
