Srinagar, Apr 13 (NVI): The Tulip Garden in Srinagar in Kashmir, famous for special kind of flowers, will be open for the public for three more days only.
The garden is renowned for Tulip flowers which are seasonal and bloom only during a limited period of Spring. Accordingly, this garden is opened for the public only for a specific period during Spring every year.
This year, the garden was thrown open to visitors on March 16 and it will be shut on April 16.
The decision to shut the garden has been taken following recommendations of the Tulip Committee after the culmination of this year’s blooming season, according to the Department of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Kashmir.
It said a massive footfall was recorded this season, with lakhs of tourists and locals visiting the garden over the past one month. (NVI)
