Srinagar, Apr 18 (NVI): An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 struck Afghanistan on Saturday, with tremors felt across the Kashmir Valley, officials said.
The quake triggered brief panic among residents in parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, as people rushed out of their homes and offices.
However, there were no immediate reports of any damage to property or loss of life from anywhere in the Valley, officials added.
Authorities said the situation is being monitored closely.(NVI)
