LG Sinha visits damaged Gada Dari temple in Jammu, orders restoration work

Jammu, Jun 8 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the historic Gada Dari temple inside the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex here and directed officials to take immediate steps for the restoration and preservation of the centuries-old shrine following reports of damage to the structure.

During the visit, Sinha reviewed the extent of the damage and stressed the importance of protecting the region’s cultural and religious heritage, officials said.

He directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to undertake restoration work in a time-bound manner while ensuring that the temple’s original architectural character is preserved.

Officials briefed the lieutenant governor about the circumstances surrounding the damage and the proposed restoration plan.

Sinha instructed the administration to expedite conservation measures and take necessary steps to prevent any further deterioration of the historic structure.

The Gada Dari temple, located within the iconic Mubarak Mandi complex, is considered an important part of Jammu’s cultural and religious heritage.(NVI)
