London, June 9: “We want Pakistan to withdraw its forces from our region immediately,” a prominent UK-based leader hailing from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) Mahmood Kashmiri has said.
Voicing serious concern over the brtualities being committed by the Pakistani forces in PoJK, he apprehended that the occupying forces could indulge in large scale “massacre” there.
“Pakistan has deployed thousands of its forces in the Pakistan-administered areas of Jammu and Kashmir, and these forces have begun a massacre there,” said Bradford-based Kashmiri, who is the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance (JKNIA).
In a video message, he said, “a large number of people and significant quantities of weaponry have entered the Pakistan-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan in private vehicles and they intend to carry out a massacre and pin the blame on the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee.”
Apprehending that the “situation is about to deteriorate drastically for our Kashmiri youth”, he said the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve to live in peace.
“If Pakistan believes it can subjugate Kashmiris through force and coercion, it is mistaken. Even if Pakistan sends all its forces into Kashmir, it will still fail to subjugate the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Pakistan has recently sent tens of thousands of its military personnel, adding to the lakhs of those already present in the occupied territories of Jammu and Kashmir.
They have been using extreme oppression and brutalities against the local Kashmiris and so far, more than 200 people have been killed and thousands injured.
The situation in entire PoJK remains volatile and large scale protests are taking place against Pakistan, particularly its Army and notorious intelligence agency ISI.
Pakistan occupied these territories militarily in October 1947 when the then undivided Princely State was yet to accede to India.
