Srinagar, Jun 26 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held separate meetings with Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar and Himachal Pradesh School Education Minister Rohit Thakur in Srinagar, discussing issues of mutual interest and avenues for inter-governmental cooperation.
During his meeting with Prem Kumar, the chief minister discussed strengthening democratic institutions, enhancing inter-governmental cooperation and promoting the exchange of legislative best practices. Abdullah welcomed the Bihar Assembly Speaker to Jammu and Kashmir and wished him a pleasant stay.
Later, the chief minister met Rohit Thakur, who was accompanied by senior officials of the Himachal Pradesh School Education Department, including State Project Director Rajesh Sharma, Director School Education Ashish Kumar Kohli, Additional Secretary Anil Chauhan and faculty members associated with Samagra Shiksha.
The discussions focused on strengthening school education, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, enhancing institutional collaboration and sharing best practices between the two Himalayan regions.
Abdullah highlighted the importance of quality education in sustainable development and stressed the need for greater collaboration between states to improve learning outcomes and adopt innovative educational practices.
Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo, MLAs Sheikh Ahsan Ahmed and Mushtaq Guroo, along with senior officials, were also present during the meetings.(NVI)
