J&K LG Sinha Orders Immediate Relief After Seven Dies in Poonch Landslide

Srinagar, Jul 20 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday expressed grief over the death of seven people in a rain-triggered landslide in Poonch district and directed officials to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected families.

In a post on X, Sinha said the landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, claimed seven lives.

“A tragic landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Poonch has resulted in the loss of seven precious lives. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families during this difficult time,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He said senior officials have been directed to ensure immediate relief measures and extend all necessary assistance to the affected families.

According to officials, the landslide struck the Domail Dhok Nandichool area of Loran in Poonch district, burying several people under debris. Seven persons, including women and children, were killed in the incident. Rescue and relief operations were carried out by the authorities.(NVI)
