Srinagar, Jul 22 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday strongly condemned the killing of a police head constable in a terror attack in Anantnag district, asserting that those responsible for the “cowardly” act would not escape justice.
In a post on X, Sinha said he had spoken to Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat to review the security situation following the attack.
“I strongly condemn this cowardly attack. This heinous act will not go unpunished. J&K Police and our security forces are on the ground and will bring those responsible to justice,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also expressed condolences to the family of the slain policeman and said the entire nation stands in solidarity with them.
Police head constable Ashiq Hussain was killed after terrorists attacked him in the Lal Chowk area of Anantnag on Wednesday afternoon. Security forces have since cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.(NVI)
