Jammu, Aug 31 (NVI) Several gates of the Salal Dam in Jammu and Kashmir were opened after two days of continuous rainfall led to a rise in inflow into the reservoir, officials said on Monday.
The weather conditions improved in the region on Monday following the spell of rain, while authorities continued to monitor the water level and inflow into the reservoir.
Residents living in downstream areas have been advised to remain cautious and follow safety advisories issued by the authorities, officials said.(NVI)
