Srinagar, Sep 21 (NVI) :The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was adjourned on Monday and will reconvene on Tuesday morning, as the autumn session of the House got underway here.
The proceedings were adjourned after members raised various issues during the day’s sitting.
As Question Hour commenced, opposition members raised slogans and pressed for regularisation of National Health Mission (NHM) employees, besides raising concerns over alleged outsourcing of jobs to outsiders and the hike in electricity tariffs.
The Speaker repeatedly urged the members to maintain order and allow Question Hour to proceed, but the protests continued.
The Chair subsequently adjourned the House for the day.
The Assembly will reconvene at 10 am on Tuesday. September 22 has been reserved for government business, according to the provisional calendar issued by the Assembly Secretariat.—(NVI)
