Samba, Sep 24 (NVI) Three suspected mortar shells were found during excavation work in Nud area Samba district on Thursday, officials said.
Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad secured the area and subsequently defused the shells at a designated location, they said.
Loud explosions were heard during the controlled disposal operation, officials said.
According to local residents, three mortar shells had also been recovered from the area earlier.
