New Delhi, Oct 23 (NVI) : The Indian Navy and the Russian Federation Navy have successfully concluded their bilateral naval exercise INDRA 2026, with Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri departing Vladivostok on October 20, the Navy said.
The exercise was conducted in two phases — Harbour and Sea — focusing on professional exchanges, coordinated operations and enhancing interoperability between the two navies.
The Harbour Phase featured interactions between senior leaders, cross-deck visits, subject matter expert exchanges, operational coordination activities, sports events and cultural engagements, providing an opportunity for personnel to exchange operational practices and professional experiences.
The subsequent Sea Phase involved coordinated manoeuvring, integrated communications, helicopter operations and medical evacuation drills, enabling the participating units to practise joint procedures and strengthen coordination at sea.
Sports and cultural activities also helped foster camaraderie and strengthen ties between personnel of the two navies, complementing the professional engagements, the Navy said.
The successful conclusion of INDRA 2026 reaffirmed the longstanding defence and maritime partnership between India and Russia, underscoring the importance of sustained naval cooperation and interoperability in promoting maritime security.
The exercise also reflected the shared commitment of the two navies to maintaining a secure, stable and peaceful maritime environment.—(NVI)
