Quetta, Oct 23 (NVI) Nearly 20 hours after launching a major attack on a Pakistani military camp in Gwadar in Balochistan, Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said this evening that the “historic operation Almas” has ended after successfully achieving all the set goals.

BLF spokesman Major Gwahram Baloch said “dozens of military and intelligence personnel” of Pakistan were killed and army and Frontier Corps posts were destroyed during the assault on the military camp — Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and surrounding areas since last evening.

He said 7 BLF fighters, including a woman fighter, killed themselves after the operation codenamed ‘Almas’ after the female member of the attackers.

“The historic Operation Almas of the Balochistan Liberation Front, which began on October 22 in Gwadar and its surroundings, has officially ended after successfully achieving all its set strategic, military and economic goals after long and intense clashes,” the spokesman said.

During this extensive operation, the occupying Pakistani army and intelligence network have suffered irreparable loss of life and property, he said.

He said the BLF military commanders targeted the main camp of the FWO, “destroying the center of completion of colonial projects in Gwadar in particular and Makran in general, and have practically made it clear to the world that without the will and intention of the Baloch nation, colonial projects in Balochistan will never be safe.”

The offices and camps of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence in the main camp of FWO were targeted by the BLF fighters and “many personnel including their senior officers were killed in these attacks,” Gwahram Baloch said.

During the operation, the BLF fighters “not only foiled all the counter-attacks of the occupying army, attempts to advance armoured vehicles and reinforcement convoys but also forced them to retreat and maintained their complete dominance and control over the camp for twenty hours.”

“During Operation Almas of the Sadhu Operational Battalion, as a result of the heroic actions of the Jandinder Sarmachars, dozens of Military Intelligence (MI) officers, Special Services Group (SSG) personnel and regular army personnel have been killed.

“In addition, the enemy’s main camp, outposts, internal barracks and administrative offices have been completely destroyed through explosions and attacks, while several armored vehicles and spy drones and quadcopters of the occupying army were also destroyed in firing and attacks,” the spokesman said.

“After repeatedly defeating the occupying enemy during Operation Almas, the Jund-e-Nard Sarmachars of the Sadu Operational Battalion, following the philosophy of the last bullet, sacrificed themselves on the path of freedom and added a new chapter of bravery to the Baloch national history,” he said.

He identified these fighters as Khalid alias Zamir, Bilkis Deedag alias Almas, Hamidullah alias Badal, Shakeel alias Sohrab, Mujeeb Zeb alias Aftab, Nasir Ali alias Naudan, Mujahid Mehr alias Sagar Zamrani, saying they played a key role in the success of the operation by sacrificing themselves.

He said the outfit will officially release a comprehensive statement, detailing figures of the casualties and material losses suffered by the enemy during this successful operation. (NVI)
