New Delhi (NVI): Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is under home quarantine.
The 56-year-old actor’s spokesperson confirmed the news and said the actor has isolated himself at his home after testing positive.
“Mr. Aamir Khan has tested positive for Covid-19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern,” the statement from the spokesperson read.
Earlier this month, actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tara Sutaria and Satish Kaushik also tested positive for COVID-19.
India has been witnessing a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra registered 28,699 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the overall count to 25,33,026. The state’s toll rose to 53,589 as 132 more new deaths were recorded.
