ACB traps police ASI in bribery case in J&K’s Reasi

Jammu, Sep 10 (NVI) The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday trapped an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Talwara Police Post in Reasi district for allegedly accepting a bribe, officials said.

The accused officer has been identified as Talib Hussain, posted at the police post under Reasi police station, they said.

The ACB received a complaint alleging that Hussain had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant. Following verification of the allegations, the bureau laid a trap on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The ASI was allegedly caught during the trap proceedings, they said.

Further details, including the amount of bribe allegedly involved and the nature of the matter for which it was demanded, were not immediately available.

The ACB has initiated an investigation and further legal action is underway, officials said.—(NVI)
