Doda, Sep 10 (NVI) Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Nalin Prabhat on Thursday visited a joint security post at the strategically important Doda-Kathua-Udhampur trijunction and reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness, officials said.
Prabhat visited a Joint Temporary Operating Base (TOB) manned by personnel of the Special Operations Group (SOG), Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), they said.
The DGP was accompanied by senior police officers, including the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Deputy Inspector General of DKR Range, Deputy Inspector General of Udhampur-Ramban Range and Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda.
During the visit, the officers reviewed security arrangements, counter-terrorism measures and the operational preparedness of the joint forces in the area.
They also assessed the prevailing security situation and discussed measures to further strengthen inter-agency coordination, area domination and surveillance, officials said.
Prabhat interacted with the personnel deployed at the joint TOB and appreciated their alertness and commitment to duty. He stressed the need for continued vigilance and close coordination among security forces to effectively deal with emerging security challenges.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts by the police and other security agencies to strengthen the security grid in vulnerable and strategically important areas, officials said.—(NVI)
