Srinagar, Aug 14 (NVI):- An Army captain, who sustained injuries during an intense encounter with terrorists in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, has tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The encounter, which began as part of the ongoing “Operation Asar,” has claimed the life of Captain Deepak, a courageous officer who was at the forefront of the operation.
Captain Deepak was leading a search party in the dense forests of Doda when they came under heavy fire from the hiding terrorists.
Despite being injured, Captain Deepak continued to lead his team, exemplifying the bravery and commitment of the Indian Army. He was immediately evacuated to a military hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
The operation, which has been ongoing was launched following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of a group of heavily armed terrorists in the region.
The security forces have managed to recover war-like stores including M4 rifle from the encounter site.
The hunt for the four terrorists, believed to be hiding in the forest area has now intensified.
Security forces, including specialized units of the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, are combing the area to track down the remaining terrorists.
The encounter has once again highlighted the challenging security situation in the Jammu region, which has seen an uptick in terrorist activities in recent months.
The region remains on high alert as the search operation continues, with reinforcements being rushed to the area to ensure that the terrorists do not escape.(News Vibes of India)
