New Delhi (NVI): Voting in over 750 constituencies spread across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry is underway.
Polling began at 7 am in all four states and the Union Territory. Counting of all the polls will be held on May 2.
West Bengal is undergoing third phase of voting and has five more phases to go. On the other hand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have their single-phase election voting which will end today. As for Assam, the state is witnessing its third and final phase of voting.
The polling percentages recorded at 5 pm was – Assam (78.94%), Kerala (69.95%), Tamil Nadu (63.47%), West Bengal (77.68%), and Puducherry (77.90%).
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has suspended a sector officer after three EVMs and four VVPAT machines were found at TMC leader Goutam Ghosh’s residence, last night.
