Balochistan: BLA claims responsibility for attacks

Quetta: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) tonight said its fighters targeted the occupying Pakistani army in two separate operations in Kalat and Mastung districts of Balochistan and killed a detained a State informer for treason.

The BLA fighters attacked the central camp in Mangchar area of ​​Kalat last (Wednesday) night by lobbing a hand grenade, its spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said.

At least three enemy personnel were injured in this attack, he added in a statement.

The stunned enemy army later opened indiscriminate fire on the civilians, the BLA spokesman said.

BLA also killed Ubaid Kurd, a detained key operative of the so-called death squad formed by the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies, he said.

Kurd was held in an operation in Asalpanji in Mastung on August 11, Jeeyand Baloch said.

“During interrogation, Obaid Kurd admitted that he was sponsoring, on the directions of Pakistan Army, the armed group which is helping the occupying forces in Maru, Kolpur and Dasht areas,” the spokesman said.

He admitted that he was also involved in the forced disappearances of several other persons including Takri Wahid Kurd and his younger brother Dad Muhammad Kurd from Maru along with the army, according to Jeeyand Baloch.

Investigations also revealed the names and details of other people connected to its network, the spokesman said.

Obaid Kurd was sentenced to death by the Baloch National Court for being guilty of national treason, he added.
