Quetta: In a massive operation, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said it killed at least 45 personnel of Pakistani military in Bolan district of Balochistan tonight.

The freedom fighters targeted the occupying forces at multiple places in Mach town of Bolan, including the headquarters of paramilitary Frontier Corps, a prison complex and railway station.

“Dead bodies of killed troops are under our custody,” BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said over an hour after announcing the launch of ‘Operation Dara-e-Bolan’.

Several personnel of Police and Levies were also arrested but they have been released after warnings, he said in a statement to NVI.

“However, we want to clarify that if any Police and Levies personnel try to become a hurdle during Operation Dara-e-Bolan, he will be dealt accordingly,” the spokesman said.

He didn’t give any more details but ground reports said the freedom fighters had laid a virtual siege of Mach town.

Sounds of intense firing and explosions were heard at a number of places.

In an earlier statement, Jeeyand Baloch said, “A combined operation by Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade, Special Tactical Operations Squad, Fateh Squad and Intelligence Wing, is underway.”
