Peshawar: In a major blow to Pakistani military, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today claimed killing of 15 soldiers and injuring others in an ambush in North Waziristan.
TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said 2 military vehicles were also destroyed in the operation carried out at around 2.30 am on Khaisur road in Tehsil Mir Ali of Bannu province, North Waziristan.
The ambush was carried out after receiving timely information, he said, adding 15 military personnel were killed and others were injured,
All our colleagues were safe in this operation, Khurasani said in a statement.
Earl, yesterday, the TTP said it foiled two attacks on its camps launched by the Pakistan Army in North and South Waziristan during the day, killing at least 7 military personnel and injuring several others.
At around noon, the Pakistan Army tried to raid the Mujahideen of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Tehsil Gudiyum of Wilayat Bannu, North Waziristan, its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement yesterday.
Four Army personnel were killed and 3 were injured in the counter offensive, he said, adding three dogs of the army were also killed in this attack.
About 3 hours later, the army raided the Mujahideen of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in the village of Munzera Qila in the area of Tehsil Tiaraza of Wilayat DI Khan, South Waziristan, Khurasani said.
Three military personnel were killed and others injured, he said, adding all the TTP comrades were safe in the raid.

Meanwhile, two senior commanders of TTP — Commander Muhammad Iqbal alias Shanibhai and Maulana Shaukat Baloch alias Maulana Javed — were killed in an operation in the limits of Thana University in District Dera Ismail Khan, Wilayat DI Khan on Thursday, Khurasani said.
He said Commander Iqbal “was a headache for the security agencies occupying this country (Pakistan) for a long time and during this period, he had a hand in several successful attacks on the security agencies, especially in Punjab and Dera Ismail Khan.”
A DSP named Abid Iqbal was also seriously injured in this incident, the TTP spokesman said.
