Srinagar, Sep 28 (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed noisy scenes on Monday after BJP legislators staged a protest inside the House and raised slogans against the government.
The BJP members raised “CM Kursi Chhodo” slogans during the proceedings, leading to heated exchanges between the ruling and opposition benches.
The protesting legislators objected to issues being taken up in the House and alleged that concerns raised by the Opposition were not being adequately addressed.
The slogan-shouting led to a commotion inside the Assembly, with members from both sides engaging in verbal exchanges.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather intervened and urged the protesting members to maintain decorum and allow the proceedings to continue.
The protest briefly disrupted the normal functioning of the House before efforts were made to restore order and resume the proceedings.—(NVI)
