Quetta: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has indicated that it could target rallies and other events associated with Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14 in occupied Balochistan after it attacked a stall selling Pakistani flags.
The BLA fighters targeted the stall selling Pakistani flags for the “so-called Pakistani Independence Day” in Quetta, the outfit said.
The stall was organised near a post of Pakistani military and it was guarded by civilian clothed enemy personnel, BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.
In the attack, 2 police personnel and 2 organisers of the stall were injured, he said.
“BLA requests the public to keep safe distance from such stalls or events and rallies that are going to be held for the so-called Pakistani independence day. Such events can be targeted by Baloch freedom fighters,” the spokesman said.
Freedom fighters of BLA also targeted Pakistani military in 3 different attacks in Khuzdar and Kolwah districts, killing at least 2 enemy personnel and injuring 9, the spokesman said.
In one such attack, BLA fighters targeted a patrolling party of Pakistani military and police with an IED blast near DC office in Khuzdar.
The enemy forces were targeted when they were patrolling on 8 motorbikes, Jeeyand Baloch said, adding 2 enemy personnel were killed and 3 injured in the attack.
In another attack, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani police station with a hand grenade in Moola, Khuzdar.
In Kolwah district, BLA fighters targeted an outpost of Pakistani military in Kech, injuring at least 2 enemy personnel. A surveillance drone was also shot down.
