Quetta: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) tonight said it has launched a massive and widespread operation against the occupying Pakistani military across Balochistan, including a suicide attack at the main Army camp in Bela region.

The “Fidayeen Operation Heroof” (meaning storm from all sides) has been launched across Balochistan, BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.

“As part of this operation, fidayeen (suicide attackers) from the BLA’s elite unit, Majeed Brigade, have attacked the main camp of the occupying enemy forces in Bela and have successfully infiltrated it,” the spokesman said.

Elsewhere, BLA fighters have taken full control of all major highways across Balochistan, blocking them completely, he said.

Jeeyand did not elaborate but according to local sources, the fighters have detained several police officers and personnel after attacking a checkpoint on Jiwani Coastal Highway at Gabd Cross in Gwadar.

The weapons of the police personnel have been seized and several vehicles transporting  minerals were set ablaze.

The BLA has issued a warning to the Baloch public to stay away from the highways and cooperate with the Baloch fighters.

Additionally, they have cautioned the police and Levies forces, urging them not to interfere in BLA’s fight which is “against the occupying Pakistani military”.

“If they do, the BLA warns that they will also target the police and Levies forces,” the spokesman said.

Earlier this year, the BLA carried out a similar operation in Balochistan’s Noshki, where they established a blockade on a main road near the city and killed nine “agents” traveling on buses.
