Quetta: Over 18 hours after launching the massive ‘Operation Hereof’ across Balochistan, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said this evening that it killed 126 Pakistani soldiers and injured dozens of others while losing four of its ‘fidayeen’ (suicide attackers).
Under the operation, the BLA freedom fighters stormed an Army camp in Bela area last night and maintained control over it for more than 18 hours, during which 64 Pakistani soldiers were killed and dozens injured, its spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a latest update.
He said the combat with the Pakistani military at the Bela camp is still going on.
“So far, 64 enemy personnel have been killed, and dozens have been injured, while four Baloch Fidayeen fighters have attained martyrdom,” the spokesman said.
Two of the deceased fidayeen included a female fighter Mahal Baloch alias Zalan Kurd and Rizwan Baloch alias Hammal, who rammed and exploded their vehicle laden with explosives at the gate of the camp, marking the start of the operation.
Two more Fidayeen were martyred while engaging the enemy inside the camp, and their details will be released later, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, BLA’s Fatah Squad and STOS (Special Tactical Operations Squad) had set up checkpoints on all major highways across Balochistan, he said.
At least 62 military personnel, many of them in civil uniform, were killed at these checkpoints, he said.
The killing of military personnel, mostly arriving from Punjab, was carried out after their proper identification.
Several vehicles belonging to the Pakistani military and those involved in transporting minerals out of Balochistan were set ablaze at these checkpoints, including on the CPEC route in Gwadar port city.
“After achieving their objectives, BLA’s Fatah Squad and STOS have been ordered to end the blockades and vacate their positions,” the spokesman said, adding the public was informed that they could use these highways again.
“The total number of enemy military personnel killed so far under the ‘Operation Hereof’ has reached 126,” the BLA spokesman said.
He said a detailed statement will be released to the media soon.
