Quetta (Balochistan), Mar 13 (NVI) Hours after the Pakistani military spokesman claimed that the Jaffar Express hostage crisis had been ended by the forces, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) issued a statement, dubbing the claim as a “lie” perpetrated to cover up for its “defeat”.

The BLA said “the battle continues on multiple fronts” on the ground and the Pakistani State has “abandoned” the hostage military personnel to die.

Challenging Pakistan to accept the reality on the ground, the outfit said, “If occupying army truly claims victory, then it should allow independent journalists and impartial sources access to the war-torn areas so that the world can witness the real losses suffered by the Pakistani army.”

“The claims made by the Pakistan army spokesperson (ISPR) are a failed attempt to cover up lies and defeat,” BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in the statement to NVI.

“The ground reality is that the battle continues on multiple fronts and the enemy is suffering heavy casualties and military losses.

“Occupying army has neither achieved victory on the battlefield nor managed to save its hostage personnel,” said the spokesman of the BLA whose scores of fighters derailed and seized the Jaffar Express train two days back and took into custody over 200 Pakistani military personnel who were on board.

The individuals whom the Pakistani state and its propaganda machinery claim to have “recovered” were in fact released by the Baloch Liberation Army itself under its war ethics and international norms, he said.

“On the contrary, Pakistani army continues to conceal its defeat through propaganda while abandoning its personnel as hostages,” the BLA spokesman said.

“Baloch Liberation Army had given Pakistani state an opportunity to show seriousness regarding the issue of prisoners of war and take steps towards a prisoner exchange.  However, instead of saving the lives of its own soldiers, the occupying army remains fixated on war.

He said the battle is currently ongoing with intensity and freedom fighters are forcing the enemy to retreat on all fronts.

“The defeated army, after failing in ground battles, has started targeting the local Baloch population in an attempt to take revenge for its military helplessness by attacking unarmed civilians,” he said.

“Now that the (Pakistani) State has abandoned its hostages to die, it will also bear responsibility for their deaths,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

“This battle has now gone beyond the control of Pakistani state. In every confrontation the enemy’s defeat is inevitable and BLA is fighting with full force to bring this war to a logical conclusion on its own terms,” he said. (NVI)
