Quetta: Over 50 hours after storming the headquarters of Pakistani Frontier Corps in Panjgur, the fighters of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) continued to maintain “strong control” over the campus amidst intense gunfight, the outfit said tonight.
The BLA fidayeen (suicide attackers) have killed at least 75 personnel of the occupying Pakistani forces and destroyed a military gunship helicopter and a drone, the outfit’s spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said.
The BLA’s operations in Panjgur along with that in Noshki areas of Balochistan started on 2nd February at 8pm, with the fidayeen of the Majeed Brigade storming the headquarters of FC at the two places.
Overall, 175 Pakistani security personnel have been killed in the twin attacks so far, according to the BLA.
“Nine fidayeen of Majeed Brigade controlled FC headquarters in Noshki for more than 20 hours and eliminated approximately 100 enemy personnel,” Baloch said in a statement tonight.
He said the Majeed Brigade’s control of Panjgur FC camp remains strong even now.
“During this time, BLA fidayeen have destroyed a gunship helicopter and a drone while also eliminating at least 75 personnel of occupying forces,” he said.
- The Pakistani military has been downplaying the incidents as well as casualties, claiming that only 4 soldiers have been killed.
Meanwhile, BLA fighters today targeted a military vehicle of Pakistani forces in Bolan with an IED, Baloch said.
An enemy personnel was killed and two others were injured in the attack, he added.
