Quetta (Pakistan-occupied Balochistan): A day after its female suicide bomber targeted a “high value” convoy of Pakistani military causing heavy losses, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) today said the outfit has hundreds of such ‘fidayeen’ ready to wreck havoc upon the assets of occupying Pakistan and its ally China in Balochistan.
BLA said its woman suicide bomber Sumaiya Qalandarani Baloch targeted a 5-vehicle convoy of Pakistani secret agencies in Turbat yesterday afternoon when it was on its way to ISI Headquarters.
The targeted vehicles had senior officers of Pakistani secret agencies and there were heavy losses, the extent of which could not be assessed as the Pakistani military immediately sealed the entire area to hide their losses, the outfit’s spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.
“BLA’s intelligence wing had reliable information that senior officers of Pakistani secretive agencies were travelling in the convoy,” he said.
The Pakistani establishment normally hides or suppresses the casualties suffered by its military, especially the secret agencies.
He said a Police vehicle, which suffered damage, or the police personnel in it who were killed were not the targets of the BLA.
“The police vehicle that was travelling from the other side of the road was targeted by Pakistani forces,” the BLA spokesman said.
25-year-old Sumaiya is the second woman suicide bomber of the BLA and its ‘Majeed Brigade’ to sacrifice her life in an attack on Pakistani forces.
Last year, on April 26, Shari Baloch alias Bramsh became the first woman suicide bomber of BLA to target a vehicle in Karachi, killing 3 Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver.

Sumaiya was daughter-in-law of BLA’s Founding leader General Aslam Baloch and fiancé of Fidayee Rehan Baloch, the spokesman said.
She was a resident of Tootak in Khuzdar, from where her grandfather, uncles and several cousins were forcibly disappeared on 18th February 2011.
Giving details about Sumaiya alias ‘Sammo’, Jeeyand Baloch said she was a journalist who had joined BLA seven years ago and voluntarily rendered her services for the Majeed Brigade four years ago.
“She went through rigorous training for four years, during which she was provided opportunities multiple times to revisit her decision to rule out any pressure and emotional factors behind her decision,” the spokesman said.
“However, she stood firm on her decision and today became immortal in history with her successful attack,” he added.
Sumaiya, a highly educated and intelligent woman, worked for BLA’s Media Wing for five years and played a key part in strengthening and increasing its effectiveness, Jeeyand said.
“BLA holds fidayeen Sumaiya Qalandarani’s ultimate sacrifice with high regard and vows that the only revenge of martyrs lies in complete independence of Baloch motherland,” the spokesman said.
“Today, hundreds of Baloch fidayees, including Baloch women, are part of Majeed Brigade and are ready to wreck havoc upon the enemies.
“Occupying state Pakistan and its crony China should immediately withdraw from Balochistan, or else they will have to face harsh attacks,” the BLA spokesman said.
