Bonanza for babus of J&K, Ladakh as Govt approves 7th CPC

New Delhi (NVI): In a bonanza for 4.5 lakh government employees of new Union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Centre on October 22 decided to give them allowances and other financial benefits as per 7th Pay Commission with effect from October 31.

This fulfils a promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Parliament passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019.

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the payment of 7th CPC allowances to the J&K and Ladakh govt employees and the ministry has issued the order in this regard on October 22, official release said.

The move will benefit 4.5 Lakh Government employees who are working in the existing state of Jammu & Kashmir and will become the employees of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the release added.

The annual financial implication of 7th CPC allowances like Children Education allowance, Hostel allowance, Transport allowance, LTC, Fixed Medical allowance etc. in respect of 4.5 lakh govt. employees of existing state of Jammu & Kashmir shall be Rs. 4800 crore tentatively, it added.
