Book Review: Three Sanyasis and Their Mothers

at 4:48 pm

Education better be imparted through stories, more so when it is value-based.

The path of Sanyasa, an Indian tradition is being followed since time immemorial. It is believed that the person who takes Sanyasa ends all kinds of relations with his family.

A Sanyasi, even while living this world becomes free from wordly bondage and gets detached from everything and relationships.

Against this background, three renowned Sanyasis Adi Shankaracharya, Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu and Swami Vivevekanda however, remained attached to their mothers and conscious of duties towards them.

This book , based on anecdotes relating to varied experiences from childhood till they breathed last, gives brief information about the works of the revered Sanyasis. At the same time, as much information as available has been given about their great mothers too.

Published by National Book Trust India, Ministry of Education, Government of India, the book takes the reader on a compelling journey.
