New Delhi (NVI): In order to curb the COVID-19 spread, the central government has advised all its employees aged 45 years and above to get themselves COVID-19 vaccinated.

Furthermore, the employees have been advised to continue to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour even after vaccination by frequent washing of hands and sanitisation, wearing a mask or face cover and observing social distancing etc, an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions stated.

“The government has been monitoring the situation very closely, and based on the strategy adopted for prioritising the groups for vaccination to contain the spread of COVlD-19, currently, all persons of the age of 45 years and above can participate in the vaccination exercise,” it said.

The Central government, from April 1, has expanded the vaccination net making all those who are aged 45 or older, eligible for inoculations.

So far, over eight crore people have been vaccinated against the virus since the drive began in mid-January.
