New Delhi (NVI): Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela today informed that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Taking to Twitter, Chiranjeevi said, “Took a test for COVID before resuming ‘Acharya’ shoot as a protocol and unfortunately tested positive.”

“Request all those who met me in the last 5 few days to also undergo covid tests. Will update you on my recovery soon,” he added in a letter.

This comes only couple of days after when the actor, along with Nagarjuna, met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss the resumption of film shoots, reopening of cinema halls and theatres in the state.

Earlier in September, Chiranjeevi’s brother and actor Nagababu tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Telangana reported 857 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 2,51,188 while four more fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,381 in the state.
