Coronavirus Latest Updates: India sees sharp rise in single day Covid cases

New Delhi: India witnessed a steep rise in single-day Covid cases, with 3,205 fresh Covid cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 2,568 cases recorded during the same duration the previous day.

The country registered 31 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll across the country has reached 5,23,920 and the country’s active cases stand at 19,509.

Nearly 2,802 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 4,25,44,689, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate now stands at 0.98% and weekly positivity rate at 0.76%.

Yesterday, the country registered 2,568 fresh cases and 20 fatalities in 24 hours.

On Monday morning, the country registered 3,157 fresh Covid cases and 26 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country registered 3,324 fresh Covid cases and 40 fatalities in 24 hours.

On Saturday, the country registered 3,688 fresh Covid cases and 50 fatalities in 24 hours.

The country registered 3,377 fresh Covid cases and 60 fatalities a day before within 24 hours.
