New Delhi: India witnessed some increase in Covid numbers, with 2,897 fresh cases being registered along with 54 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said today.
Active cases stood at 19,494 while over 2,986 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, the government said.
The country registered 2,288 new Covid cases and 10 deaths during 24 hours yesterday.
On Monday, the government reported 3,207 fresh Covid cases and 29 deaths registered in the preceding 24 hours.
The active caseload of COVID19 stood at 20,403 a day earlier, it said.
With the death of 10 more people, the number of total fatalities in the country due to the virus has gone up to 5,25,103.
On Sunday, the government said 3,451 new Covid cases and 40 deaths were registered in the country during the past 24 hours.

During the preceding 24 hours of Friday last, the country recorded 3,805 cases against 3,545 registered during the same period a day earlier.
On Thursday, the country reported registration of 3,275 fresh Covid cases and 55 fatalities in preceding 24 hours.
The country registered 3,205 fresh Covid cases and 31 fatalities during the 24 hours prior to that.
