New Delhi (NVI): Delhi Chief Minister today announced that social gatherings, excluding weddings, of more than 50 people will not be allowed in the city, as he appealed to the people to take proper precautions, avoid handshakes and wash hands regularly, to avoid COVID-19 infection.
“All gyms, night clubs and spas are to be closed till March 31,” Kejriwal said in a press conference here.
He further added that SDMs and DMs have been ordered to install mobile basins with soaps to wash hands for the general public at the earliest.
In addition, all malls and shopping centres in Delhi will be disinfected daily and provisions of hand sanitizers at the entry gates have to be made.
The fresh directions have been issued in exercise of the powers conferred by the Delhi Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. The order was signed by Secretary in Health and Family Welfare Department of Delhi Government, Padmini Singla.
