Covid cases in India dip further, death toll rises

New Delhi: India has witnessed a marginal drop in single day Covid cases, with 2,35,532 new Covid cases were being registered in the last 24 hours.

The fatalities due to the pandemic climbed to 4,93,198 with 871 more deaths, according to Union Health Ministry.

The active cases stood at 20,04,333 and the daily positivity rate is at 13.39%.

Nearly 3,35,939 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,83,60,710, the Ministry said.

Yesterday, the country registered 2,51,209 fresh Covid cases and 627 fatalities in 24 hours.

On Thursday morning, the country registered 2,86,384 fresh Covid cases, against 2,85,914 recorded a day earlier.

The country also recorded 573 deaths during the preceding 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country registered 2,55,874 fresh Covid cases and 614 fatalities in 24 hours.

On Monday morning, the country registered 3,06,064 new cases and 439 deaths in 24 hours.

A day earlier, the government reported 3,33,533 new cases and 525 deaths in preceding 24 hours.
