Covid update: India registers 16,103 new cases, 31 deaths

New Delhi: India registered 16,103 fresh Covid cases and 31 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said this morning.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,25,199.

The active caseload stood at 1,11,711, constituting 0.26% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.54%, with 13,929 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,28,65,519, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.27% and the weekly positivity rate is at 3.81%.

Nearly 3,76,720 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

Yesterday, the country registered 17,092 new cases recorded in 24 hours.
