New Delhi: India registered 8,306 fresh single-day Covid cases and 211 deaths during the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said here today.
With the infections, the country total tally of COVID19 cases rose to 3,46,41,561, while the active cases declined to 98,416, the lowest in 552 days, the Ministry said.
The 211 deaths pushed the cumulative number of fatalities due to Covid to 4,73,537.
It is for the 10th straight day that the country has registered below 10,000 single-day Covid cases while the figure of less than 50,000 has been for 162 consecutive days now.
The active cases comprise 0.28 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.35 per cent, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the Ministry reported a big jump in single-day Covid fatalities, with 2796 deaths being reported from across the country yesterday.
The death figure during the previous 24 hours was 415.
According to the Union Health Ministry yesterday, 8,895 fresh Covid cases were registered in the previous 24 hours and the total active cases stood at 99,155.
The country reported 9,765 fresh Covid cases and 477 deaths in 24 hours, a day earlier.
During the previous 24 hours, 8,954 new cases and 267 deaths were reported from across the country.
