New Delhi: India registered 16,047 fresh Covid cases and 54 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,826.
The country’s active caseload stood at 1,28,261 constituting 0.29% of the total Covid cases, it said.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.52%, with 19,539 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,35,35,610, it said.
Daily positivity rate stands at 4.94% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.90%, the Ministry said.

Around 207.03 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 12,751 new cases and 42 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 16,167 fresh cases in 24 hours.
On Sunday, the country registered 18,738 fresh cases and 49 deaths in 24 hours.
