New Delhi: India’s single-day Covid cases have crossed the 12,000 mark today, with 12,213 fresh cases being registered within the span of 24 hours, the highest single-day surge in 3 months.
At least 11 deaths due to Covid were also registered during this period, the Health Ministry said.
With this, the cumulative fatalities due to the pandemic have gone up to 5, 24,803.
The active caseload stood at 58,215, the ministry said.
Nearly 7,624 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours, taking cumulative recoveries to 4,26,74,712, it said.
Yesterday, the country registered 8,822 fresh cases and 15 deaths in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 6,594 fresh cases and 6 fatalities in 24 hours,
The country registered 8,084 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, the day before.

On Sunday last, the country reported 8,582 fresh Covid cases and 4 deaths in 24 hours.
The country reported 8,329 new cases during the preceding 24 hours.
At least 10 deaths due to Covid were also registered during that period.
On Friday last, the government reported 7,584 fresh Covid cases and 24 deaths in a span of 24 hours.
