Srinagar, Jan 12 (NVI): Police has escalated its fight against narcotic smuggling by freezing more than 100 bank accounts associated with drug traffickers. These accounts, holding deposits worth several lakhs of rupees, are under detailed scrutiny to trace the flow of illegal funds. The action effectively blocks traffickers’ access to financial resources critical to their operations.
The individuals linked to these accounts have been arrested under the NDPS Act, with investigations revealing the use of these funds for trafficking narcotics and psychotropic substances. In addition, properties worth crores, suspected to be acquired through drug trade, have been attached under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act.
Srinagar Police remains committed to dismantling the networks fueling drug abuse and urges citizens to report any suspicious activity related to narcotics by contacting the nearest police station or dialing 112. (News Vibes of India)
