Jammu, Jan 07 (NVI): A CRPF assistant sub-inspector, Rajnath Prasad (55), allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle in Reasi district of Jammu today.
The incident took place inside a makeshift CRPF picket along the Tarakote route leading to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. Prasad, a resident of Bihar, succumbed to his injuries on the spot. After hearing the gunshot, his colleagues immediately responded, only to find him lifeless.
Police have initiated an inquest to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
The motive behind Prasad’s tragic action is currently under investigation.(News Vibes of India)
