New Delhi (NVI): The Delhi Assembly polls will be held from February 8 and results will be declared on February 11, the Election Commission announced today.
The term of 70-member House ends on February 22, 2020. With the announcement, the model code of conduct comes in effect immediately.
Total number of electors in NCT of Delhi are 1,46,92,136. Polling will be held at 13,750 booths.
In the 2015 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal recorded a massive win, bagging 67 of 70 seats, while BJP grabbed 3 seats. Congress failed to win a single seat. While AAP garnered 54.3 per cent of the vote share, BJP’s share reduced by a one per cent from 2013 to 32.1 per cent.
