New Delhi (NVI): Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar tested positive for coronavirus today and has been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.
He has been touring the state extensively to evaluate damages caused due to floods and to strengthen the party’s district units.
“I had fever and have tested positive for the CoronaVirus. I am doing well, but as a precaution have been hospitalized and am under the good care of doctors. With your wishes and blessings, I will soon be back. I appeal to all those who came in contact with me to be cautious,” DK Shivakumar tweeted.

Earlier in August, former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had tested positive for coronavirus. He later recovered from the virus after treatment but was advised to stay in home quarantine.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who had also tested positive for COVID-19, had also recently recovered from the deadly virus.
Apart from this, five other ministers from the southern state have also tested positive for COVID-19.
Karnataka’s coronavirus tally rose to 2,83665 after 5,851 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, while 127 fresh fatalities pushed it’s COVID-19 death toll to 4,810.
