DySP Humayun Bhat gets Kirti Chakra posthumously

Srinagar, Aug 15 (NVI): As the slain DySP Humayun Bhat was awarded Kirti Chakra posthumously, J&K DGP RR Swain, ADGP Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir V K Birdi GoC 15 Corps Rajiv Ghai and other top officials visited the house of Bhat to pay him rich tributes on the occasion of Independence Day.

DGP J&K Swain, Goc 15 Corps Rajiv Ghaie, ADGP J&K Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir V. K. Birdi and other officers visited the residence of late DySP of J&K police Humayun Bhat.

Deputy Superintendent of Jammu & Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat was killed in a terrorist encounter that lasted for six days in Gadole forests in the Kokernag area of Anantnag in September 2023. Colonel Manpreet Singh & Major Ashish were also critically injured in the gunfight and died later.

Moments before his death, DSP Humayun Bhat had called his family members in his attempt to catch a glimpse of his one-month-old baby.
